Are you hosting a course at your location and are looking for a speaker? If so, here are some frequently asked questions (and answers!):
1. What topics do you present?
I present on a variety of Assistive Technology related topics. I am happy to customize a course for the needs of your participants. Topics can be combined, too. I can present each topic in the time frame that is required. Below are some of the topics I frequently present. If you don't see the topic you are interested in, email me at MichelleLange1@outlook.com and I will let you know if I can accommodate your request. For further topic ideas, see past education offerings.
Positioning for function
Positioning the head
Power mobility assessment, driving methods and training
Pediatric power mobility
Advanced power wheelchair electronics
Interfacing AT with power wheelchairs
Switch assessment: determining switch type and site
Mounting speech generating devices
2. What dates are you available?
Email or call me about possible dates and I will do my best to accommodate your needs. To allow for marketing, CEU approval and other logistics, I encourage you to plan your course 3-6 months ahead of time. My schedule is also more open with advanced notice.
3. What about CEUs?
Continuing Education Units are highly desired by most participants who may require these for their place of employment, to maintain licensure, and/or to maintain certain certifications such as the ATP or SMS from RESNA. Some state OT and PT Boards also require state approval for a course to count toward licensure. I am very familiar with this process and can provide you with the necessary information for a CEU application.
4. What are the costs?
My fee per education day is $2000, regardless of the length of time of the course itself. In addition, my fee includes travel expenses, specifically flight, hotel, food and any other transportation costs (i.e. taxi, parking).
5. What is included for this cost?
The fee covers a day of education, required CEU information, and handouts. I bring my own laptop computer and will arrange for any equipment related to the course content (i.e. power wheelchairs for a mobility course). I require a screen, projector and lapel microphone. Chocolate is always appreciated!
